Frequently asked questions..
1. “I’ve tried everything — how do I know herbal medicine will work for me?”
That’s a completely valid concern. Many of my clients come to me after feeling let down by other approaches. Herbal medicine works by gently supporting the body’s own healing mechanisms, rather than forcing or suppressing symptoms. I tailor every protocol based on your unique constitution, terrain, and story — so this is not a one-size-fits-all plan. It's often the missing piece, especially for those who feel unseen in conventional systems.
2. “Can I take herbs if I’m on medication?”
Yes — in most cases, herbs can be safely used alongside medication. As a trained herbalist, I always check for interactions and will adjust your plan accordingly. The aim is to support your body in a way that complements, not conflicts with, any existing treatment. If needed, I’ll work collaboratively with your GP or consultant.
3. “How long will it take to see results?”
Everyone is different. Some people notice improvements within the first few weeks — especially in energy, digestion or sleep. For deeper healing, especially with long-term or chronic issues, we work in cycles of around six weeks at a time. Herbal medicine is not about quick fixes, but about restoring long-term balance and vitality in a sustainable way.
4. “What if I don’t like the taste of herbs?”
That’s okay! Herbs come in many forms — tinctures, teas, powders, capsules, and even nourishing honeys or topical applications. We’ll find the format that works best for you. And often, people come to love the taste of their remedies because they associate it with healing.
5. “I’m not very good at routines — can I still benefit from this?”
Absolutely. Part of our work together is about helping you integrate small, manageable changes that feel do-able. You don’t need to be perfect. Healing is a journey — and I’ll meet you exactly where you are.
6. “Can I just have a quick herb for [insert symptom]?”
Herbs are powerful, but they work best when we understand why that symptom is showing up. Rather than just suppress a headache, skin rash or bloating, I’ll help you uncover the root cause so we can choose herbs that bring real, lasting change.
7. “What does an iridology reading actually involve?”
It’s gentle and non-invasive. I take a close-up photo of your iris and interpret what your eyes are revealing about your health, constitution, and emotional history. Clients are often amazed at how much their eyes reflect their lived experience. It’s not diagnostic in the medical sense — but it’s a powerful tool for insight and personalised herbal planning.
